Savour the Delights of the Sea at Menai Seafood Festival 2015

The small town of Menai Bridge on Anglesey attracts tens of thousands of visitors for this annual event celebrating North Wales’ coastal heritage. Showcasing a vast array of seafood that is caught in the beautiful waters surrounding Anglesey as well as a variety of local produce, this festival is every food-lovers dream.
For those who aren’t fans of seafood, there are still plenty of great reasons to visit. This year the festival will begin with an outdoor chamber music concert held on Princes Pier. Enjoy an evening fine dining looking out over the Menai Strait, whilst you listen to a selection of Mozart’s instrumental pieces delivered by Ensemble Cymru. Coinciding with Anglesey Marine Week, means there are lots of educational activities which are ideal for kids to get involved with. Head to St. Georges Pier, where Anglesey Sea Zoo will be running seashore safaris all day.
This event has gone from strength to strength in the few years it has been running. The festival is free to attend and offers a huge range of attractions and demonstrations, sure to capture the interest of all those who visit. Alongside over 100 stalls from local producers, there are also exhibitions showing work from local artists. Why not take the opportunity to try out an exhilarating adventure boat ride along the Straits, before enjoying some Anglesey brewed ale and some live music in the evening. The festival finishes with a spectacular firework display along the Menai at 9pm, bursts of colour reflecting in the waters below.
The first Menai Seafood Festival was held in 2013, drawing in crowds of over 10,000 people. This event now runs annually and is growing bigger and better each year, thanks to support from local businesses and community sponsors. This year the festival will be held on 22nd August, with live demonstrations starting at 11.00am.
We still have some room availability for the weekend of August 21-22-23, over Menai Seafood Festival. You can check and book online here
